“As soon as it becomes your profession to critique a book, or movie, or record then, not only do you lose your passion for it, but it loses validity for whoever you’re trying to turn it onto because they’re going to be approaching it from a consumer’s point of view, not from a professional writer’s point of view.”

Neil Young: Massey Hall 1971

"Neil Young live at Massey Hall in Toronto Canada from January 19, 1971. The files are a few generations down from the master, so unfortunatly there is a small hiss though out but that will seem to disappear when you get shivers down your spine hearing Neil say, "This is a new song..." and that song is Old Man."

This is what I wrote a few weeks ago in response to the '71 concert that has since been removed from Big O's database. It seemed it was only up for a short time or maybe I just got the tail end of it when I posted about it. None the less, many people have expressed an interest in the show and from the history of this site, a lot of you have try to aquire this amazing concert.

"His voice sounds so young and vibrant and this is a must have.", and since I wrote that, here is Neil Young live at Massey Hall in Toronto Canada from January 19, 1971, in it's entirety, for your listening pleasure.

Did you see that the BigO has the tonight's the night demos posted, but only two songs. You wouldn't happen to have the whole thing? Also, I sent you an email about possibly trading some stuff (I have lots of Dylan and Stones), but I never heard back from you. keep up the great work and hope you feel better.

This is a great sounding concert...but the last 4 songs are full of sound drop-outs or gaps, getting increasingly worse from "See the Sky..." to "I Am a Child", which is just about unlistenable. I emailed the BigO site about it but got no response.

Yeah, I noticed that too, but that's the way they had them. I feel lucky enough just to have a copy of the concert.
